Additional Notes and Explanations to Waste Neutralization or Packaging Marks:
A - landfilling of waste (in their original form) in layers separated with horizontal fillers or vertical ones (bunds)

B - landfilling of waste that has been already treated (solidified) through immobilization e.g. in concrete. It bears noting that: solidified waste that is integrated into concrete (hydraulic binding agent) or solidified or thermally bound is inactive or very little active in the environment, which means that it is inert. Such immobilization processes must be run according to carefully selected procedures, guaranteeing complete immobilization of solidified waste. In this way we come up with matter that may be - to the most possible extent - "inert" or "hard to be dissolved" and may be suitable for landfilling

C - waste disposal through packing into sacks or packages of similar type. Such sacks should be made from plastic foil that is mechanical shock-resistant, e.g. polyethylene, polypropylene or optionally from double-layer material e.g. paper-plastic, that is hermetic and air-tight. The so called big bags may be used for these purposes, too. The key thing is a proper mechanical shock resistance of packages, air-tightness and resistance to weather. Waste put into sacks is fairly weather-resistant, easy in transport, does not need to be separated on a daily basis, is easily laid so tightly that it does not require to be thickened with heavy machinery used for dumping purposes - which is the case with waste disposed in the landfilling manner

D - waste disposal through packing into hard tanks that are corrosion-resistant and mechanical shock- resistant and waste-resistant. These may be for instance steel drums protected against corrosion from the outside and paint from the inside (or optionally through putting a plastic bag into a drum) or plastic tanks of PE, PCV, PP type that are mechanical shock resistance. These tanks are normally air tight and disposable. This waste "packaging" method must be used for waste that is characteristic of relatively low solubility and low corrosive power that may have impact upon the package structure. Packaging waste in hard tanks is advantageous since the tanks may be used for shaping bunds in the landfill site

E - the tanks like in point D but the content is mixed with concrete or adsorptive-and-solidifying matter. It is suffice to say that very much disintegrated waste must be mixed with binding material in separate devices and the outcome mixture should be poured into the tanks. Whereas big-sized waste must be placed in barrels and mixed with liquid concrete in such a way that the concrete is poured onto the bottom of a barrel, fills in empty space inside a barrel and by the sides of it. In some cases, concrete may be substituted with mixture including sorbing agents such as bentonite, fly-ash - or optionally - sawdust. These methods must be applied to waste characteristic of high ecotoxicity, high solubility, big corrosive power that may have impact upon the tank structure. The examples given above must be regarded as general principles, whereas in practice one should select binding agents or sorbing agents appropriately to the kind of waste, taking into consideration the binding and rheologic features and immobilization properties as well as quantity and volume of waste. This is the issue of prescriptive guidelines that depend on waste features and they cannot be treated as operational manual for landfill sites in any way whatsoever.
